Please note that there are currently fake accounts on Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook that are utilizing the imagery from our website to spread absolutely horrific and disgusting images from the tragedy in Boston. We do NOT endorse the use of our imagery in the manner in which it is used in the images circulating, nor do we condone the actions of those that are creating and promoting them.

We know that there are those that disagree with our stance with regard to the case of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, but to pair their own agenda with the harm that the victims of Boston faced, is beyond us.

It is encouraged for those just visiting our website as a result of this imagery to look through our content here and verify for yourself that our movement does not utilize this imagery in the way it is being portrayed. It is also encouraged for those just visiting to consider finding the curators of this disgusting content and report them to Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr.

Finally, our thoughts and prayers have always been with the victims of the tragedy in Boston. We do not spread conspiracy, we do not encourage hatred, and we absolutely would never use the hurt of others for our own gain. Appropriate actions are being taken with regard to the misuse of our imagery. To those who were negatively affected by these images, we'll make every effort to expose those responsible.

If you should have any questions concerning this matter, please feel free to contact us.

Edit: The individual responsible for originally circulating the images is @JaharFanClub. A disclaimer regarding this account was posted to our website earlier today. Please note that there are those that worked to promote this agenda, it is in our opinion that they are just as responsible.

Edit: Other users were listed here that may or may not have been involved with cross-promoting the images originally posted by @JaharFanClub. They have since been removed and our attention is on that of the original user who posted the offending images of victims in conjunction with misuse of our imagery.

Edit: It is recommended that all visitors read our WHAT WE DON'T ENDORSE page.

Edit: Twitter user @WeAreTheLion_ is NOT an endorsed representative of WEARETHELION. They switched from the @JaharFanClub handle to this and attempted once more to spread the images. The user has since been banned by Twitter.

Edit: It appears whomever is behind the horrific images that misuse our imagery is now working under the handle @JaharsUnicorn and has recently started to recirculate the images. The user has been reported to Twitter and reports have been filed in an attempt to reveal the users identity so that legal action may be pursued.

You knew fully well that those photos were being used. You see what your followers do. Your digusting for allowing that to happen. Shame on your for making your followers do your dirty work by spreading those callous pics of Martin and Jeff.

this is not the true supporters and followers who are doing these disgusting things. i think it is people who are trying to paint a bad image of the true supporters and followers. the callous pictures of martin and jeff are being spread by people who want to sabotage the supporters and followers. this sick little game is not only tarnishing the good intentions of the supporters, but it is also dishonouring those who died and were maimed. think about that for a moment and acquire a sense of decency and respect for all parties concerned.

If people actually took the time to read through this website, they would see what we're actually about. It's sad that they feel the need to resort to hateful actions.

I'm sure if people took the time to read the unabombers manifesto and walk a mile in his shoes they too would probably see what he's all about. I'm sure if you took the time to read Mein Kampf you'd understand what Hitler is about.

People don't have time these days. You're not transparent, sound like a front for conspiracy mongering psychopaths, and are getting what you apparently deserve if that is the case. You made your bed. And woke up with fleas.

Time for me to make like a tree.

While I appreciate your opinion, I fail to see the comparison between this website and Hitler. This organization does not support or endorse terrorism or hatred in any way. We merely want justice to be served in the proper manner in accordance with the constitution of the United States. If he is guilty, then he will be found so in a court of law to a jury of his peers. If he is not, then he will go free. Who made the entire country judge, jury and executioner?

You're comparing us with the wrong group of people. We're not screaming for his freedom. We just want justice.

Interesting that you mention Hitler's Mein Kampf...if YOU had read it then you'd know what it is all about. Actually, you don't even have to read it because the title is self-explanatory. But I can see where you are going with the "People don't have time these days. You're not transparent"-valid point

@Audrey - Your Twitter handle has been removed. We apologise for any misunderstanding. Our intention is to report and block any and all attempts at promoting the unauthorized use of our imagery in conjunction with the horrifying images of victims.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and thank you for helping to report and block the user who posted the disgusting images.

With regard to our supporters, we do not believe any of them have endorsed this activity. Even if they did, we are not able to control what people say publicly, that would be a violation of freedom of speech, a value we are attempting to protect.

Again, sorry for any misunderstanding. And thank you for reaching out.

you shouldn't be asking for donations a domain name is only worth like 10 or 20 dollars a year. I don't see why you need donations. Jahar still doesnt have a inmate registration number he will get it if he is found guilty so theres no way to help financially yet and his mother already has a pay pal account. I really don't see why you guys want us to donate $1 there are also donation sites for the victims and their families. If you guys can't do this for free then you should just go back to supporting them from tumblr which is free. You are using weebly which is also free so again i don't see a need for donations. I used to trust you but now with the donations thing its looking sketchy

You are free not to donate, and on our donations page we recommend donating to the victims through individual fundraisers such as "BostonStrong". We are working to build something far greater than just our efforts to ensure Jahar's rights are protected and something that will grow.

Our hope is to one day operate an organization as large as the other major non-profit movements and make more of a change in the world around us. Scaling takes time and money.

Please keep in mind that we do not push for, advertise, or solicit donations anywhere but the button on our navigation. We encourage users that if they feel compelled to give, because we've added value to them, to do so. The donations go specifically to help us grow, that is all.

If you don't wish to, or don't feel comfortable donating, don't. If you have money to donate, we recommend donating to the victims described. Otherwise, we are not pushing for donations.

For the record, as of today, we've collected $8.50. It's not about expenses now, it's about being in a position to scale and have more of an impact.

We hope this helps to clarify. Thank you for reaching out, we sincerely hope you stick around, donation or not.

I still don't think that you need money to make a differene :/ YouTube is free, webbly is free, tumblr is free and twitter is free. If you really believe in something you work hard for it on your own. It makes me really sad that you guys are actually taking the money. You could get money from ads or YouTube ads because you own the information so is your work. I think it doesn't help at all that people donate money. I won't donate and I hope that people donate their actions instead of money. Actions are worth more than money.

You are right, and that's why we aren't pushing for donations. Currently, we are 100% volunteer-based. The contributions made by Pride Leaders are volunteered, and the events we put on are utilizing just the talent of our core members. Also, actions ARE worth more than money. We would have collapsed by now if it weren't for the dozens of people behind the scenes, who remain anonymous, and contribute their time and skill set. That is STILL crucial to our movement.

We do not wish to monetize our efforts online (e.g. YouTube) as we feel the message is far too important to be distracted from with an ad. Donations would be used to help raise awareness, like a Facebook ad campaign. They might also be used so that we can upgrade from the "Free" version of Weebly and get access to added features so that our volunteer web team can further expand our efforts. In addition, they could be utilized to help purchase items that help promote civil liberty, human rights, and freedom of speech so that we can provide them to supporters for free. We are also in a position of need to upgrade to a Google Apps paid account and add more email addresses to our hosting. Granted, many of these items are pennies and dimes but what you don't know is how much our core group has put into this already.

Keep in mind, the use of the funds are to further expand the movement. Many organizations spring up from venture capital or investment, meaning that they are funded (and controlled) by the investors. If we scale based only on donations, we are in a position to stick to our principals and work to benefit our supporters rather than our investors.

Again, if donations are made... great. If not, we're still going to keep rocking! On our donations page we've also added another disclaimer helping to encourage donors to first donate to the victims of the Boston bombings prior to making a donation to us. And again, we've collected $8.50 to date, and we do not push for people to make donations.

The thing about donations is that they are made only by free will, so it's not like we're charging you to participate! In fact, we offer the most free and downloadable items in once place with regard to this movement. It's as simple as this... if you want to give, give. If you don't don't. Otherwise, we'll still work hard, as volunteers, to kick butt. Hope this helps.

Recently articles were written by many major news outlets discrediting those that question the official story of the Boston bombing by referring to them, for lack of a better term, as loose teenaged girls of questionable sanity who lust after a maniac. These were shameless articles that referred to anyone that questioned any part of the official story as anti-American, mentally ill, terrorist-sympathizers, hormonal, lustful, etc., etc. If there are individuals using the "wearethelion" imagery in a way that denegrates the peaceful, thoughtful message of the group, then they might have the same aim as those articles. There is something of a backlash to the lack of transparency in the coverage of the Boston bombings. Negative propaganda and demonizing of anyone that asks questions is a common and effective tactic.
